Let the childish games begin.
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a review. Going to school full-time and working on the weekends limited my free time. Now that I have some time I figured to write the rest of the reviews.
As I predicted this episode continued the theme in the previous episode “Skidmark” of the childish behavior between the two. Mike (played by Jason Sudeikis) got Tandy back for last episode’s cruel prank by shaving half of Tandy’s whole body part. Tandy’s attempt at retribution for these pranks failed, of course.
This episode felt formulaic with all the jokes and the flow of the story-line. Each one more predictable than the first. Most notable was how Tandy kept getting out smarted by Mike, then whining about it like a kid that made it a bit too sad.
The worst joke was Tandy trying to put poison ivy in Mike’s bed. I know Tandy is not the smart one of the group but I thought he could have tried something a bit more original.
Mike had the some great pranks. I won’t go into too much detail but it involved Tandy falling out of his bed on the beach. It also had them outsmart the network censors by using the ring finger instead of the middle-finger.
The Miller brothers made amends in the end, of course, after Tandy showed Mike their parents letters to Mike.
As for the b-storyline of Todd figuring out how to help everyone had the same issues too. Him being to transparent with Melissa and Gale about the other was boring. He did get some good jokes in, ending with his rousing speech of giving 600% effort to everyone in the world.
Overall this was another formulaic episode. It looks like the writers will end this silly storyline that should open more storylines.
Here are some of my other thoughts:
- Carol’s misuse of the line of “tit-for-tat” is hilarious.
- The characters had some great references about hair.
- Does anyone else think this show could be about Todd?
